27 Jun IDC welcomes new Board chairperson and members, thanks outgoing leadership
The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has welcomed the appointment of
Ms Gloria Serobe as its new Board Chairperson. Ms Serobe was appointed to the Board along with six other new members.
Ms Serobe brings a wealth of experience in governance and business leadership. She is the co-founder and CEO of Women Investment Portfolio Holdings and has held leadership roles at Denel SOC, Adcorp Holdings, Sasfin Wealth, Old Mutual, and Nedbank. Ms Serobe also served as CEO of the Solidarity Fund, established to support small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking on behalf of management, IDC CEO Ms Mmakgoshi Lekhethe expressed her confidence in the new leadership saying the collective expertise of the new board members spanned strategic business leadership, entrepreneurship and corporate governance. These individuals will help guide the IDC in fulfilling its mandate.
Ms Lekhethe also thanked the current Chairperson Ms Busisiwe Mabuza and her fellow board members for their dedicated service to the Corporation over the years.
Other Board members appointed alongside Ms Serobe include Mr Reon Barnard,
Ms Tanya Reeva Cohen, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, Dr Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Dr Keitumetse Mothibedi, and Dr Sydney Mufamadi. The effective date of the Board changes will be announced in due course.
