MCEP – ENERGY RESILIENCE TRANSITION FUND: INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAMME

Objective:

To incentivise companies that adopt alternative energy solution to buy solar panels, inverters and batteries locally.

Qualifying Criteria

  • Projects that procure locally manufactured or assembled Solar panels, inverters and batteries.
  • Projects that qualify for Energy Resilience funding.
  • Applicants must be at least BBBEE Level 4 or reach that level within 24 months after approval.
  • No retrenchments for the duration of the facility.

Support Offering

  • Instrument – Loan
  • Pricing – fixed rate of 0% (interest free)
  • Loan of 15% of the cost of locally manufactured/assembled PV panels, inverters & batteries, capped at R10 million.
  • SMEs, ESCOs to present invoices of procured components,
  • Loan will be disbursed directly to component suppliers.
