23 Jun Clarification on False Claims Regarding R500 Million Flood Relief Grant
The Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) sympathises deeply with those affected by the recent flooding in Mthatha and other parts of the Eastern Cape. We are aware of false claims circulating about a R500 million Flood Relief Grant for Mthatha businesses.
The IDC has not announced any such grant. Please be cautious and vigilant against false claims and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement officials immediately.

The Corporation acknowledges the national state of disaster declaration, which enables the government to mobilise resources and coordinate support to address the disaster’s impact.
