Greening of the economy to spur job creation

The greening of the South African economy has the potential to create more than 460 000 new direct jobs by 2025, according to the Green Jobs report released earlier today by the IDC, DBSA and TIPS.

IDC funding boosts Newcastle firm

With funding from the Industrial Development Corporation, South African Calcium Carbide, one of SA's leading energy-intensive companies, develop an 8MW co-generation facility with GreenEng. SACC is Africa's only producer of calcium carbide, a product used in the desulphurisation of steel.
