These include:

  • Economic Development Department

    The government's Economic Development portfolio focuses on matters of macro and micro-economic development planning. It has set out a New Growth Path for the country, placing employment at the centre of government’s work and policies. 
  • Department of Trade and Industry
    Department of Trade and Industry supports the government's economic goals of growth, employment and equity, providing leadership through understanding the economy, identifying economic opportunities and potential. Key to this is the creation of predictable, competitive, equitable and socially responsible environment for investment, enterprise and trade. 
  • Centre for Development and Enterprise

    The Centre for Development and Enterprise is one of the country's leading development think tanks. It focuses on development issues and the relationship of these issues to growing South Africa's economy and creating an equitable environment. 
  • National Economic Development and Labour Council

    The National Economic Development and Labour Council is the umbrella body through which government, labour, business and community organisations meet to find common ground on economic, labour and development issues, and related challenges. 
  • South African Enterprise Development Fund

    The South African Enterprise Development Fund provides funding to stimulate the creation and expansion of small and medium enterprises throughout Southern Africa. 
  • Small Enterprise Finance agency

    The vision of the Small Enterprise Finance Agency (sefa) is to be the leading catalyst for the development of sustainable Survivalist, Micro, Small and Medium enterprises through the provision of finance. 
  • Small Enterprise Development Agency

    The aim of the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) is to develop, support and promote small enterprises throughout the country. Seda is an agency of the Department of Trade and Industry. 
  • National Empowerment Fund

    The National Empowerment Fund promotes black economic equality and transformation and is a catalyst for Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment.
