Our focus
The Textile and Clothing SBU is headed by Willie Fourie. The SBU intends to support and promote entrepreneurship, industrial development and strategic partnerships by building competitive industries and enterprises in South Africa and the rest of Africa. The SBU places specific focus on the following industry sectors and subsectors:
- Natural and synthetic fibre production;
- Spinning, knitting, weaving; finishing; printing and dyeing;
- Non-woven textiles;
- Industrial textile production;
- Home textile;
- Clothing manufacturing;
- Footwear;
- Leather tanning; and
- Leather products
Who should apply for finance
While each business proposal is considered on its particular merit, preference is given to:
- Financing fixed assets and the fixed portion of growth in working capital requirements;
- Projects/businesses which have a significant developmental impact e.g. rural development, empowerment, job creation, township development and value addition; and
