Our focus
The International Finance department is responsible for all export credit transactions and local bridging transactions in the IDC and focuses on:
- Medium to long-term export credit transactions to finance foreign suppliers of South African capital goods and services
- Commercial cross-border transactions
- Procuring ECIC policies in respect of the medium to long term export finance transactions
- Short-term export and local bridging finance for both pre and post shipment finance
- Rand and dollar based short-term guarantees
We provide the necessary expertise and services in order to ensure positive results in projects and transactions. Among our services:
- We facilitate and implement insurance policies, including ECIC policies
- We procure and are responsible for South African Reserve Bank Approval
- We manage stakeholder relations including relations between the client, ECIC, South African Reserve Bank and the internal IDC business units
- We manage client expectations and assist the client through the documentary gathering process
- We attend and present at export councils and DTI functions
- We promote the IDC’s long term and short term export finance products
