Who should apply for finance

While each business proposal and request for finance is considered on its particular merit, preference is given to:

New Greenfield projects, expansion and rehabilitation transactions
Projects with significant developmental impact i.e. job creation, empowerment, value addition, rural development, empowerment and export generation
A project of sizeable value i.e. a finance requirement of more than R1 million in debt and/or more than R5 million in equity
A well-developed business plan
Willingness to take risks and to contribute to the business
Financing fixed assets and the fixed portion of growth in working capital requirements
Buy-ins and take-overs by historically disadvantaged persons (HDPs)
Businesses led by competent management team members
