Fund for Research into Industrial Development Growth and Equity(FRIDGE)

The project manager for Fund for Research into Industrial Development Growth and Equity (FRIDGE) is Mahlogonolo Monyeki. FRIDGE funds investigations, studies and facilitation processes leading to the generation of information, knowledge, and/or action initiatives which are aimed at improving South African industries’ global economic competitiveness. The fundamental aim of FRIDGE is to fund research into studies where the major deliverables of the study are implementable policy outcomes based on objective facts emanating from that study. In other words, to facilitate the creation of findings which are not only informational but also achievable which can be “fed” back into the public and the private sectors.

The FRIDGE is funded by the department of the trade and industry (the dti) managed by a Sub-committee of the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) Trade and Industry Chamber and its funds are administered by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).
