The Chemicals and Allied Industries SBU is headed Hilton Lazarus. The SBU intends to support and promote entrepreneurship, industrial development and strategic partnerships by building competitive industries and enterprises in South Africa and the rest of Africa. The SBU places specific focus on the following industry sectors and subsectors:
- Upstream and basic chemicals;
- Ceramic, concrete and stone products;
- Cosmetics and detergents;
- Fine and speciality chemicals;
- Glass products;
- Recycling;
- Rubber products; and
- Plastic products
Who should apply for finance
While each business proposal is considered on its particular merit, preference is given to:
- Financing fixed assets and the fixed portion of growth in working capital requirements;
- Projects/businesses which have a significant developmental impact e.g. rural development, empowerment, job creation, township development and value addition; and
